The latest AP collection is out, and it’s predictably gorgeous. As a photography lover, this campaign ticks all the boxes too – stripped back, understated, and it seems to have a hint of 90s Calvin Klein to it (even if the lingerie is the polar opposite).
I love the sheer panels and lace up details, and I’ve always been a total sucker for AP’s lace gowns – the Saffi and Gayle are pure flowing, bohemian gorgeousness. The simple, pared down approach to the photography was definitely the right call – this way you’re not distracted by props or effects, just the beautiful model and sumptuous lingerie.
Blending fishnet and lace is definitely a popular thing at the moment – it’s even filtered through to M&S. Hopefully the trend will stick around for a while since they’re two of my favourite textures for lingerie.
The lookbook for July and August is full of varied textures and classic AP shapes with a definite rock n roll feel. Photographically, it’s almost the complete opposite of the main campaign – the location is lush, with plenty of props (candles, throws, empty bottles), but it still works.
